Trenches.
What is it? Well, it's the newest film from Shane Felux (Star Wars -
Revelations; Pitching Lucas). Someone finally decided to give him some
money, and he produced this. The film is a Sci-Fi War movie set in a
far off future. Two armies (The Rossdale Alliance and the Kuzaa) are
at war over a piece of rock, fighting for a useless scrap of land. There's
a lot more involved, but I'm not sure how much I can give away right
now. The film is being made for Stage 9, which is a new division of
Disney.
Shane
called and asked me and my team to make all the costumes, props and
weapons for both armies, as well as all the FX make-up. A tall order
since we only had 7 weeks of pre-production. Somehow we pulled it off,
and here are the pics of our behind the scenes, and on set adventures.
Sadly,
since this film is still in Post Production and not expected to be released
until October, I can't post any of the pics of the costumes, props,
FX make-up, sets, or other bits until I get permission. Sorry. :(
The
first week of shooting took place in a rock quarry in Virginia. The
same quarry where I first met Shane in 2002 while making Revelations.
Before

In
the hotel sorting the gear, Graham starts goring up the Ben Affleck

With
such short pre-production time, we had to do all the actor fittings
in our hotel room the night before the first day of shooting. And then
after the fittings, we had to stay up all night to make adjustments
and alterations. Jenni, Erica, Sam and Cat rocked that night and had
every costume ready for our first day on set and the 6am call time!

quarry walls. We were at least another 100 feet (or more) deeper in
the ground this time than we were in 2002 for Revelations.
